Delete your account
Applies to: Qafila for Android and iOS · Last updated: 21 September 2026
You can ask us to delete your Qafila account and the personal data attached to it at any time. You do not need a reason, and we will not try to talk you out of it.
How to request deletion
Email jadoontech@outlook.com with the subject "Delete my account".
Send it from the email address on your Qafila account — that is how we confirm the request is really yours. If you signed up with Google, use that Google address.
Include your Qafila username if you know it. Nothing else is needed.
If you can no longer send mail from the address on the account, email us anyway and explain — we will ask for something else that shows the account is yours. We will not delete an account on the word of someone who cannot show it belongs to them, because a deletion we cannot undo is the worst thing to get wrong.
How long it takes
We confirm receipt, verify the request, and complete the deletion within 30 days. In practice it is usually much sooner. We will email you when it is done.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in credentials.
- Your profile — display name, username, photo, bio, city and country, sports.
- Your push notification tokens, so the app can no longer notify your devices.
- Your messages, and the image attachments you sent.
- The content you posted: spots and venues you added, posts, comments, reviews, likes and poll votes, activities, listings and shop profile, logbook trips and any GPS tracks on them, bookmarks, friend connections, and your memberships.
What is kept, and why
A small amount of data outlives the account. We would rather tell you exactly what, than write "some data may be retained".
| What | Why it stays |
|---|---|
| Messages you sent, in the other person's copy of the conversation | Their conversation is their data too. We cannot reach into someone else's inbox and remove what they received. It is not indefinite either way: every message is deleted 30 days after it was sent, from every copy, so this clears itself within a month of your last one. |
| Shared records — tournament results, a community other people still use | Deleting these would damage other people's history. We keep them in a form that no longer identifies you. |
| Moderation reports, decisions, warnings and audit records | So repeat abuse can be recognised and a moderator decision can be reviewed later. Otherwise deleting an account would erase its own record. |
| Aggregate counts and statistics | These are totals — for example how many people viewed a venue. They do not identify you. |
| Anything the law requires us to keep | Kept only for as long as we are required to keep it. |
| Backups | Overwritten on their normal cycle. They are not used to restore a deleted account. |
It is permanent
Deletion cannot be undone. Your username and any community handles you hold are released and may be taken by someone else. If you want a copy of your data, ask for it before you request deletion — email the same address and we will send you an export.
If you want less than deletion
- Stop notifications — turn them off for Qafila in your device settings.
- Stop location access — revoke the permission in your device settings. The app keeps working.
- Remove one thing — you can delete an individual post, spot, listing or message in the app without deleting your account.
- Correct something — most profile details are editable in the app.
More detail
The Privacy Policy sets out everything we collect, who we share it with, and how long each kind of data is kept. Section 12 covers deletion.
